The penetration rate of aluminum alloy steering knuckles will double in three years. By 2027, the proportion of new energy passenger vehicle applications will exceed 65%

Recently, the "Data Analysis Report on China's Steering Knot Market in 2025 and the Next 5 Years" showed that under the dual drive of the "dual carbon" policy and the increasing penetration rate of new energy vehicles, aluminum alloy steering knuckles are accelerating the replacement of traditional cast iron products. The penetration rate of aluminum alloy steering knuckles in new energy passenger vehicles has reached 28% in 2024, an increase of 19 percentage points from 2021. It is expected to jump to over 65% in 2027, with a compound annual growth rate of 29.4%.

Data shows that aluminum alloy steering knuckles can achieve a single piece weight reduction of 30% -35%, with a carbon footprint only half that of cast iron parts (9.3 kg CO ₂ e vs 18.7 kg CO ₂ e). At the same time, the stiffness and fatigue life are synchronously improved, laying a key hardware foundation for the deployment of steer by wire (SBW) systems. At present, enterprises such as CITIC Dicastal and Wencan Co., Ltd. have achieved large-scale production through integrated die-casting technology. The Yangtze River Delta region has received 180 million yuan of provincial-level special funds to support related technology research and development, promoting the industry's transformation towards lightweight and green.
