The Chinese Navy's participation in the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Aden is also a manifestation of China's role as a "responsible power". The picture shows the Chinese Navy conducting anti-piracy exercises in December last year. IC diagram
The U.S. military confirmed that the U.S. and Chinese navies deployed in the Gulf of Aden have coordinated operations against piracy.
Lieutenant Colonel Campbell, naval spokesman for the U.S. Central Command and spokesman for the Multinational Maritime Joint Force, confirmed on Friday that the U.S. Navy deployed in the Gulf of Aden has contacted Chinese naval ships that arrived in the waters not long ago and coordinated military operations against piracy.
"The 150th Special Operations Team, which was originally patrolling this area, is coordinating with the Chinese side," Campbell said. There is already an international naval force in the region, and we are trying to coordinate our forces, avoid friction, and make the most of everyone's resources there. If the Chinese Navy says it will patrol a certain sea area, we will patrol other sea areas. ”
The 150th Special Operations Team is part of a multinational maritime joint force established under the leadership of the U.S. Navy. There are more than 40 warships and more than 20 participating countries participating in this joint operation in the Gulf of Aden, but the Chinese Navy has not joined the joint force led by the US military
